Há um português na corrida aos Óscares

Os nomeados para a 94.ª edição dos Óscares foram conhecidos na passada terça-feira. A cerimónia de entrega dos prémios está agendada para 27 de março e decorrerá, como é habitual, no Dolby Theatre, em Hollywood, Los Angeles, estado da Califórnia.

A liderar as nomeações deste ano encontra-se o filme “O Poder do Cão” com 12 nomeações entre as quais a de “Melhor Filme”, “Melhor Realização”, “Melhor Argumento Adaptado”, “Melhor Fotografia” e “Melhor Ator”.

Esta é uma longa-metragem da Netflix que também é a produtora e distribuidora de filmes mais nomeada, com 27 nomeações, o que reforça e atesta o peso crescente do streaming na indústria de cinema de Hollywood.

Nas nomeações encontra-se também um português, Luís Sequeira, designer luso-canadiano cujo trabalho no guarda-roupa de “Nightmare Alley – Beco das Almas Perdidas”, um filme de Guillermo del Toro, foi distinguido pela Academia.

Nessa categoria, Luís Sequeira concorre com o trabalho de guarda-roupa nos filmes “Duna”, “Cruella”, “Cyrano” e “West Side Story”. A longa-metragem em que o designer luso-canadiano trabalhou está nomeada em outras três categorias: “Melhor Fotografia”, “Melhor Design de Produção” e “Melhor Filme”. Esta é a segunda vez que Sequeira é nomeado para os Óscares.
